Maybe Happy Ending won for Outstanding Production of a Musical, with director Michael Arden winning for Outstanding Direction of a Musical.

The Tony-nominated show picked up four wins, including Outstanding New Broadway Musical.

Alumni, faculty and a student representing six schools were nominated in 17 categories, including Best New Musical, Best New Play, and Best Leading Actor

Musicals Buena Vista Social Club, Death Becomes Her, and Maybe Happy Ending all tied to become the most nominated productions of the season, each including the much coveted Best Musical.

The colorful musical will go up against Death Becomes Her, Just in Time, Maybe Happy Ending, and Music City for Outstanding Musical, with Maybe Happy Ending and Just in Time both runners up for the most nominations with nine each.

Maybe Happy Ending had the second most nominees with nine, also including Outstanding New Broadway Musical and a nomination for leading man and producer Darren Criss for his leading performance.

The annual event, honoring the best of Broadway and Off-Broadway, will be held May 16 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom.
